Krishna Trading LLC, a food and beverage importer, failed to develop, maintain, and follow a Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) as required under section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and 21 CFR part 1 subpart L. During inspections conducted in February 2022 (with prior inspections in November 2018 and June-July 2021), the FDA found the company was not performing required risk-based verification activities to ensure imported foods met applicable U.S. food safety standards. Despite promising in July 2021 to hire a consultant and provide compliance documentation within 15-20 days, Krishna Trading LLC failed to submit any FSVP development documents or respond to the Form FDA 483a observations issued in February 2022.
