Allure Foods LLC, an importer of food products including cashews, roasted/salted fava beans, and natural wasabi peas, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under 21 CFR part 1, subpart L. During an inspection from November 23 to December 6, 2021, the FDA found that the company did not maintain adequate risk-based verification activities for products imported from specified foreign suppliers. Additionally, when the FDA requested FSVP records be submitted electronically or by other prompt means on November 23, 2021, the company did not respond to the request. These violations represented significant non-compliance with section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
