Dara Food LLC, an importer of food and beverages, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. During a February-March 2022 inspection (following a prior December 2019 inspection), FDA found that the company did not develop, maintain, or follow an FSVP for any of the foods it imported, a fundamental requirement to verify that imported products meet applicable U.S. food safety standards. The company received a Form FDA 483 with observations but provided no documentation of corrective actions in its response to FDA.
