Imprimis Rx LLC distributed promotional materials for Pred-Moxi-Brom, a compounded drug product containing prednisolone acetate, moxifloxacin, and bromfenac, that made false or misleading claims about the drug's safety and effectiveness, thereby misbranding the product in violation of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The promotional materials published in professional medical journals failed to adequately communicate the known risks associated with the active ingredients and their combined use, creating a false impression of safety. The FDA expressed particular concern that these violations posed public health risks given the documented safety concerns with these drug ingredients. This warning followed a prior FDA communication to Imprimis Pharmaceuticals regarding similar promotional compliance issues with compounded drug products.
