S&S Quality Wholesale Inc., a food importer, failed to develop, maintain, and follow a Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) for imported food products including Bashan Koftelik Bulgur Fine, Bread Sticks, and Wheat Kernel Habiya, in violation of section 805 of the FD&C Act and 21 CFR part 1, subpart L. During inspections conducted in February 2022 and previously in April 2020, the FDA found the company had not implemented the required risk-based activities to verify that imported foods met applicable U.S. food safety standards. The company failed to respond to the FDA's Form 483a observations issued on February 16, 2022, indicating a lack of engagement with the compliance process.
