RDM Express Inc. received a warning for serious violations of seafood HACCP and Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations at their San Francisco warehouse facility, which stored ready-to-eat refrigerated herring fillets and other seafood products. FDA inspectors found evidence of rodent and insect activity throughout the facility, resulting in filth contamination that rendered the stored seafood adulterated and potentially unsafe for human consumption. The company failed to implement and maintain a compliant HACCP plan and operated under insanitary conditions in violation of 21 CFR Parts 123 and 117.
