Compass Logistics, LLC, a food and beverage importer, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under 21 CFR Part 1, Subpart L during FDA inspections conducted in August-September 2022 and a prior inspection in October 2020. The company did not perform the required risk-based verification activities to ensure that imported foods from multiple foreign suppliers met applicable U.S. food safety standards, with the exception of hot sauce from one supplier. In response to the warning letter, the company committed to hiring a consultant and implementing a complete FSVP compliance program by December 31, 2022.
