Fierro & Sons, LLC manufactured ready-to-eat hummus and cheese products under insanitary conditions that violated Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) and Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls regulations. FDA investigators conducting an inspection from July through August 2022 found that the company failed to prepare and implement a required food safety plan overseen by a preventive controls qualified individual, resulting in products that were deemed adulterated and potentially contaminated or injurious to health. The company's corrective action responses submitted in September 2022 were determined insufficient to address the serious violations identified.
