Transu Investment Group, LLC, an importer of food and beverages including pineapple syrup, red beans, and honey syrup, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under 21 CFR part 1 subpart L. During a February-March 2021 inspection, the FDA found that the company did not adequately review and assess its foreign suppliers or verify that imported products met applicable U.S. food safety standards. This represented a continued compliance failure, as similar violations had been noted during a prior FSVP inspection in March 2019, and the company failed to respond to an amended FDA Form 483a issued in April 2021.
