Zuland Distributor Corp, a food and beverage importer, failed to develop, maintain, and follow a Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) for imported produce including jicama, jack fruit, and long beans, in violation of section 805 of the FD&C Act and 21 CFR part 1 subpart L. FDA inspections conducted in February 2021 and June-July 2022 identified these significant compliance failures, and the company did not respond to the FDA 483a observations issued on July 8, 2022.
