CheapCigStore.com sold cigarette products through its website while making claims that they presented lower health risks or reduced exposure to harmful substances without obtaining required FDA approval for modified risk tobacco products. The company's products were determined to be adulterated under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act for marketing as modified risk tobacco products without an FDA order authorizing such claims, and additionally violated regulations by purporting to contain characterizing flavors without proper labeling or authorization. The Center for Tobacco Products identified these violations during a review of the company's website in April 2022.
