Dilip Ceramics Inc. dba Shivam Distributors, a food importer, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements for cumin powder, red lentils, and basmati rice imported from foreign suppliers. The company did not develop, maintain, and follow an adequate FSVP as required by section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and implementing regulations in 21 CFR part 1 subpart L. During an inspection conducted from December 29, 2020 through January 6, 2021, the FDA identified significant violations and provided a Form FDA 483a, to which the company did not respond.
