Mahita, LLC dba PushMyCart sold unapproved drug products including Patanjali Coronil Kit, homeopathic remedies, and Ayurvedic formulations through their website, Facebook, and Amazon storefront with claims that they could treat, prevent, mitigate, diagnose, or cure COVID-19. These products violated the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by being introduced into interstate commerce as unapproved new drugs under section 505(a) and as misbranded drugs under section 502. The FDA and FTC jointly reviewed the company's online sales channels on August 2 and August 16, 2021, identifying multiple products marketed with unauthorized COVID-19 health claims during the ongoing public health emergency.
