California Veterinary Supply distributed unapproved animal drug products including antimicrobial medications (amoxicillin, cephalexin, ciprofloxacin, azithromycin, and others) intended for use in aquarium fish and birds without FDA approval or proper drug listing. The company violated the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by marketing these products as drugs for treating bacterial infections while failing to register their manufacturing facilities with the FDA and obtain required new animal drug approvals. The products were also misbranded under section 502(o) of the FD&C Act due to the absence of proper drug listing and FDA-registered manufacturing facilities.
