Root Bioscience Brands, LLC dba Naternal was warned for marketing unapproved new drugs in violation of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, including CBD, CBG, and CBN products (CBD Oils, Move CBD+CBG Oil, Rest CBD+CBN Oil, and gummies) for human use, as well as unapproved new animal drugs (Naternal Hemp Extract Oil for Pets in three dosages). The FDA determined these products made therapeutic claims that established them as drugs under section 201(g)(1) of the FD&C Act without FDA approval, and the animal products were additionally found to be unsafe and adulterated under sections 512(a) and 501(a)(5). The violations were identified during an FDA review of the company's website in August 2024, which revealed the products were being introduced into interstate commerce without the required drug approvals.
