Troya Del Campo USA LLC, a food importer based in McAllen, Texas, failed to establish a Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) as required by federal law for imported produce including avocados, cilantro, broccoli, and mangoes. During FDA inspections conducted in February 2023 and August 2024, investigators found that the company had not developed, maintained, or followed any FSVP protocols to verify that its imported foods met applicable U.S. food safety standards. The company did not respond to the FDA's initial observations documented on the Form FDA 483a issued at the conclusion of the August 2024 inspection.
