Mario Hidalgo DBA Distribuidora de Productos Alimenticios El Paisita, a food and beverage importer in McAllen, Texas, failed to implement required Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) for imported food products including Glorias w/Pecan Milk Candy, White Coconut Candy, and Tejocote sourced from Mexico. The company had no FSVPs in place for any of its imported products, violating 21 CFR part 1 subpart L and section 805 of the FD&C Act. This violation was identified during a remote inspection in March 2021, following a previous inspection in November 2018 that apparently did not result in corrective action.
