Agila Corporation dba Woody's Pet Food Deli was cited for manufacturing adulterated pet food products containing Salmonella Reading and Listeria monocytogenes contamination, as well as for significant violations of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP), Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Food for Animals (PCAF) requirements under 21 CFR Part 507. The company was also found to be using peroxyacetic acid (PAA) as an unapproved and unsafe animal food additive. This warning letter followed an Untitled Letter issued in September 2022 and an FDA inspection conducted in August-September 2023, during which a sample of Woody's Pet Food Deli Raw Free Range Turkey with Supplements tested positive for both pathogens, prompting voluntary product disposal.
