Picket Fence Creamery LLC was cited for misbranding twelve ice cream flavors and three cheese curd products that contained undeclared ingredients and sub-ingredients in violation of food labeling regulations. Specific examples included Dutch Letter Ice Cream, which failed to declare sub-ingredients in the baked "Dutch Letter" component (flour, butter, eggs, almond paste) and "almond syrup," and Key Lime Pie Ice Cream, which did not list sub-ingredients in its graham cracker component such as unbleached enriched flour and its constituent components. Although the company made initial corrections following the FDA's September 2021 inspection of their Woodward, Iowa facility, the corrections were incomplete and product labels remained non-compliant with 21 CFR 101.4 requirements to declare the common or usual name of each ingredient.
