Pingdingshan Tianjing Plant Albumen Co., Ltd. was cited for manufacturing ready-to-eat soy protein isolate under insanitary conditions that could have resulted in contamination with filth or rendered the product injurious to health. During an inspection in August 2023, FDA investigators identified serious violations of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) and Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls requirements under 21 CFR Part 117. The facility failed to implement adequate sanitation procedures, environmental monitoring, and preventive controls protocols required for covered food manufacturing operations. The company submitted corrective actions in response, including revised sanitation and environmental monitoring procedures.
