Ocean Group Inc.'s Los Angeles seafood processing facility was found to have serious violations of seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during a December 2023 inspection, with FDA environmental testing detecting the pathogen Listeria monocytogenes in the facility. Ready-to-eat salmon and tuna products processed at the facility were deemed adulterated due to preparation, packing, or storage under insanitary conditions that could have contaminated them with filth or rendered them injurious to health. The company responded by recalling RTE seafood products processed between December 11-28, 2023 and voluntarily ceased RTE seafood processing pending their own environmental monitoring remediation.
