Biloxi Freezing & Processing, Inc. was cited for serious violations of seafood HACCP and current good manufacturing practice regulations during a November 2022 inspection of its Biloxi, Mississippi facility, rendering its individually quick frozen (IQF) shrimp products adulterated and prepared under insanitary conditions. The company's HACCP plan for M&M Shrimp IQF failed to include adequate verification procedures at critical control points to control food safety hazards as required by 21 CFR 123.8(a), and the facility also had significant violations of food labeling regulations under 21 CFR Part 101. These compliance failures meant the shrimp products were considered both adulterated and misbranded under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
