Five Star Trading IL, Inc., an importer of food and beverages, failed to comply with the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. During an FDA inspection conducted from November to December 2022, investigators found that the company had not developed, maintained, or followed an FSVP for foods from its foreign suppliers, and had not conducted or documented required supplier verification activities before importing food products. The company's December 2022 response to FDA observations did not provide any FSVP documentation to address these significant violations.
