Pop Daddy Popcorn, LLC received a warning letter for manufacturing ready-to-eat seasoned hard pretzels under insanitary conditions in violation of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) and Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls regulations (21 CFR Part 117). FDA investigators inspected the facility in Whitmore Lake, Michigan from August through September 2022 and determined the pretzels were adulterated and may have become contaminated with filth or rendered injurious to health. The company failed to comply with preventive controls provisions required under the CGMP & PC rule, including hazard analysis and risk-based preventive controls across multiple regulatory subparts.
