Agebox Inc. was warned for marketing unapproved new drugs and misbranded products in violation of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The company's "iKids-Growth IGF-1 Support Day Formula" and "iKids-Growth IGF-1 Support Night Formula" products contained the undeclared active ingredient ibutamoren mesylate (MK-677), a growth hormone secretagogue not approved by FDA whose safety and efficacy have not been established. FDA laboratory analysis confirmed the presence of ibutamoren in samples obtained from the company's website and social media accounts, and noted the products were marketed as dietary supplements despite containing a pharmaceutical ingredient that poses serious health risks including increased appetite, water retention, fatigue, muscle pain, altered glucose metabolism, and potential congestive heart failure.
