United King Foods Private Limited, a Pakistani manufacturer of low-acid canned foods and snack foods intended for U.S. export, was found to have serious violations of the Emergency Permit Control regulation (21 CFR 108) and the Thermally Processed Low-Acid Foods Packaged in Hermetically Sealed Containers regulation (21 CFR 113) during an FDA Foreign Regulatory Assessment conducted in October 2024. The company failed to comply with mandatory requirements including registration and filing of process information as required under 21 CFR 108.35 and Part 113. These violations rendered the canned food products adulterated under federal law, as the facility did not meet the essential safety standards for thermal processing and hermetic sealing of low-acid foods.
