Daisy Global Trading Co, an importer of food products including frozen udon, fresh soba and udon noodles, rice sticks, scorched rice, buckwheat noodles, and Korean seaweed, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under 21 CFR Part 1 Subpart L. During a remote inspection conducted November–December 2020, FDA identified that the company had not performed required risk-based verification activities to ensure its imported food products met applicable U.S. food safety standards. This represented a repeat compliance failure, as the company had received FSVP observations during an initial inspection in February 2019 but did not adequately address the deficiencies by the follow-up inspection.
