Bailey's Wellness, LLC was warned for marketing unapproved new animal drugs in the form of CBD-containing products for animals (including CBD oils, pellets, chews, and balms for horses, dogs, and cats) that lacked FDA approval and were deemed unsafe under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The company promoted these animal products through its website and social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) while also selling unapproved human CBD products, violating Section 512(a) of the FD&C Act by introducing adulterated drugs into interstate commerce. The Center for Veterinary Medicine identified that Bailey's Wellness had made therapeutic claims for CBD-containing products without obtaining the required new animal drug approvals, rendering them unsafe for animal use.
