Miller dba Granja Asomante, a shell egg farm in Puerto Rico, violated the Prevention of Salmonella Enteritidis regulation (21 CFR Part 118) by failing to implement a written Salmonella prevention plan with required control measures. FDA investigators found during an April-May 2025 inspection that the farm's violations rendered the shell eggs adulterated under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act due to preparation, packing, or holding under insanitary conditions that could contaminate the product with filth or render it injurious to health. The company submitted a response to FDA's initial inspectional observations on May 20, 2025, but the agency determined corrective actions were insufficient and issued this warning letter to address continuing compliance concerns.
