Marion Mullet Farm, a calf dealer in Indiana, violated federal regulations by failing to maintain treatment records for medicated animals, creating a risk that calves with potentially harmful drug residues would enter the food supply. The FDA found that the farm administered Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim Tablets to calves in a manner inconsistent with veterinary prescription instructions, disregarding required meat withdrawal periods and instead making dosing decisions based on the animals' appearance at purchase. The farm's owner did not respond to the FDA's initial inspection observations (FDA 483) issued during inspections conducted in June 2023.
