Distribuidora Jocorena Inc., a food and beverage importer based in New York, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The company did not develop, maintain, or follow an FSVP for any of the foods it imported, including pinole (corn flour) and frozen corn products from foreign suppliers. Despite previous inspections in June 2021 and September 2022, the company continued these violations through the August-September 2023 inspection and failed to respond to the FDA's Form FDA 483a observations issued on September 8, 2023.
