Brewing Market Coffee was cited for manufacturing adulterated acidified chai teas at its Boulder, Colorado facility in violation of FDA's Emergency Permit Control (21 CFR Part 108) and Acidified Foods regulations (21 CFR Part 114). FDA inspection and product testing conducted from December 2023 through January 2024 identified serious deviations in pH and water activity controls, resulting in the products being deemed prepared under insanitary conditions with potential for contamination or health injury. The company failed to provide a written response to the FDA 483 Inspectional Observations issued at the close of the inspection.
