The company's imported mushroom shipment tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes in May 2024, leading to FDA's for-cause inspection in July 2024, which identified significant violations in the company's supplier verification procedures and food safety controls. The contaminated shipment was subsequently destroyed under FDA supervision in August 2024.
