Kyokuyo Global Seafoods Co. LTD., a seafood processor in Thailand, was found to have serious violations of seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during an FDA inspection conducted January 19-22, 2024. The company's ready-to-eat raw and cooked mackerel and frozen red shrimp were deemed adulterated because they were prepared, packed, or held under conditions that may have rendered them injurious to health, in violation of 21 CFR Part 123. The company's February 8, 2024 response outlining corrective actions and revised HACCP plans was determined to be inadequate by the FDA. The violations included failure to conduct proper hazard analysis for fish and fishery products as required by regulation.
