Tan Nam Corporation's ready-to-eat and ready-to-drink soybean products facility in Rosemead, California was cited for serious violations of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) and Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls regulations under 21 CFR Part 117, with products determined to be adulterated due to preparation, packing, or holding under insanitary conditions that could result in contamination with filth or render them injurious to health. The FDA inspection conducted between February 27 and March 20, 2025 also identified significant labeling violations in Fresh Soy Milk (No Sugar), Soybean Curd (Tofu), and Fresh Soybean Pudding products that caused them to be deemed misbranded under 21 CFR Part 101. The company's April 3, 2025 response to the FDA-483 observations, consisting only of seven photographs, was deemed inadequate to address the FDA's concerns.
