Fukusui Shoji Ltd., a Japanese seafood processor, was found to have serious violations of seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during an FDA inspection in February 2023. The company failed to conduct proper hazard analysis for fish and fishery products and did not maintain compliant HACCP plans, rendering their fresh fish products adulterated under federal law. Despite submitting revised documentation in response to the inspection findings, the FDA determined that the company continued to have significant concerns with its HACCP program implementation.
