Global LC Inc DBA Rice Chicken, an importer of food products including batter mix, mild taste marinade, and roasted seasoning, failed to establish Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVPs) required under 21 CFR part 1 subpart L for any of its imported food products. During inspections conducted in 2019 and again in November 2021, the FDA found the company had not implemented the risk-based verification activities necessary to ensure imported foods met applicable U.S. food safety standards. Although the company acknowledged plans to develop an FSVP in its November 2021 response, it did not provide adequate documentation to demonstrate compliance with section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
