Euphrates Foods, LLC dba Labeeb Alani Inc., an importer of food and beverages, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. During inspections conducted in March 2021 and September 2021, the FDA found that the company had no FSVP records and provided no documentation of risk-based verification activities for imported foods, despite these being mandatory to ensure compliance with U.S. food safety standards. This was a repeat violation, as the company had similarly lacked FSVP records during a prior inspection, yet still only proposed to take the FSVP course and submit required verifications 8 to 12 months after the warning letter.
