Zip Foods Importers, Inc failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements for multiple imported food products including millet seed, buckwheat, mushrooms, fruits, baked goods, and cheese products. FDA inspections conducted in November 2024 and June 2025 identified significant violations of 21 CFR part 1, subpart L, finding that the company did not perform adequate risk-based verification activities to ensure their imported foods met applicable U.S. food safety standards. The company's non-compliance with FSVP regulations also constituted a violation of section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
