American Food Distributor Inc. was cited for failing to comply with the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) regulation for imported food products, including tahina, extra virgin olive oil, and mallow leaves. The company did not develop, maintain, or follow an FSVP as required under section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and 21 CFR part 1, subpart L, despite importing multiple food items from foreign suppliers. The FDA conducted an inspection from July 2-15, 2025, and the company failed to respond to the Form FDA 483a observations issued at the conclusion of the inspection.
