Christopher Dale Butler's pickled quail egg production facility was found to violate the Emergency Permit Control regulation (21 CFR Part 108) and Acidified Foods regulation (21 CFR Part 114) during an FDA inspection in September 2025. The products were determined to be adulterated because they were prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions that could have resulted in contamination with filth or rendered them injurious to health. The facility failed to meet mandatory registration and process information filing requirements for acidified food processors, and FDA had not received a response to the inspectional observations documented on the FDA Form 483 at the time the warning letter was issued.
