The Great Smart African Food LLC, an importer of food and beverages including maize flour, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. During an inspection conducted from October 23 to December 16, 2025, the FDA found that the company did not develop, maintain, and follow an FSVP for foods imported from its foreign suppliers as required by 21 CFR 1.502(a). The company did not respond to the Form FDA 483a FSVP Observations issued at the conclusion of the inspection on December 16, 2025.
