Kare Solutions, LLC dba Zappy was cited for misbranding compounded drug products (semaglutide, tirzepatide, and liraglutide) offered on their website in violation of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The company falsely represented itself as the compounder of these drugs when it was not, and made unsubstantiated claims that the products were "proven medications" and "clinically studied," while also implying equivalence to FDA-approved branded versions (Wegovy, Saxenda, and Zepbound). These false and misleading statements in labeling and advertising rendered the compounded products misbranded under sections 502(a) and 502(bb) of the FDCA.
