Joy Gourmet Foods LLC, a manufacturer of ready-to-eat acidified chutneys and pastes in New York, was found to have serious violations of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP), Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls regulations, as well as regulations for acidified foods processing. During an FDA inspection from July to August 2021, investigators documented failures in compliance with preventive controls provisions and acidified food manufacturing requirements that rendered the company's products adulterated due to preparation, packing, or storage under insanitary conditions, creating potential contamination risks. The violations were significant enough that the FDA determined the products may have become contaminated with filth or rendered injurious to health.
