IMAD International, LLC, an importer of food products including honey beans, melon seeds, and plantain chips, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements under section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. During a remote inspection on January 14, 2021, the FDA found that the company did not develop and maintain adequate FSVP plans for its imported products from foreign suppliers. These violations persisted despite a prior FSVP inspection in April 2019 where the company received FDA Form 483a observations, and the company had not responded to either inspection's findings as of the warning letter date.
