The company violated the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by making disease treatment and mitigation claims—such as stating their teas contained "cancer-fighting antioxidants" and could "treat anxiety"—which classified the products as unapproved new drugs. The FDA found these violations through a review of the company's website (www.teataze.com) and Facebook page conducted in March-April 2021.
