FMT Services, LLC failed to establish Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVPs) for corn flour and quicklime imported from foreign suppliers, violating section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and 21 CFR part 1 subpart L. During a March 2021 inspection—the second inspection following a prior September 2018 inspection—the FDA found the company had not developed, maintained, or followed required risk-based verification activities to ensure imported food products met applicable U.S. food safety standards. The company did not respond to FDA 483a observations from either the 2018 or 2021 inspection, demonstrating continued non-compliance with FSVP requirements.
