Transworld International Trading Corp., a food and beverage importer, failed to comply with Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) requirements for multiple products including chocolate and puffed snacks/tortilla chips sourced from foreign suppliers. During a January-February 2022 inspection, FDA identified significant violations of 21 CFR part 1, subpart L, finding that the company did not adequately verify that imported foods met applicable U.S. food safety standards. The company did not respond to the FDA Form 483a observations issued on February 18, 2022, and this marked a repeat compliance failure, as FDA had previously conducted an FSVP inspection in October 2019.
