Ridley USA, Inc. dba Hubbard Feeds, Inc. was cited for manufacturing adulterated animal feed containing elevated copper levels that could cause serious health issues or death in sheep, following a voluntary Class I recall of Blueprint Lamb Grower 16% B30 product. An FDA inspection of the Beloit, Kansas feed mill facility in February 2022 revealed significant violations of Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls requirements under 21 CFR Part 507, which establish mandatory safety protocols for animal food manufacturers. The inspection was initiated as a follow-up to the company's own discovery through third-party laboratory testing that the product contained copper levels exceeding the recognized maximum tolerable limit of 15 ppm for sheep feed.
