Bharat Ratan LLC, an importer of food products including spices, brittle, and biscuits, failed to develop, maintain, and follow a Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) as required by FDA regulations. The company did not establish FSVP procedures for any of the foods it imported from foreign suppliers, despite FDA conducting three inspections between December 2019 and April 2022 to verify compliance. The firm failed to respond to the FDA's inspection observations form issued on April 14, 2022, and was found in significant violation of Section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and 21 CFR Part 1, Subpart L.
